1. General Terms
These terms and conditions govern your use of Merit Lab competitions. By entering any competition, you agree to be bound by these terms.
2. Eligibility
Competitions are open to residents of the United Kingdom and European Union aged 18 or over. Employees of Merit Lab and their immediate families are excluded.
3. Free Entry Method
For free entry without purchase: Send a postcard with your name, address, phone number, and the competition name to: Merit Lab, Free Entry, London, UK. Free entries have equal chance of winning as paid entries.
4. Competition Mechanics
All competitions are skill-based and require answering a question correctly. Winners are selected randomly from all correct entries. Draw dates are clearly stated for each competition.
5. Prizes
Physical prizes are delivered within the UK only via hand delivery or insured courier. Digital prizes (vouchers) are valid across Europe and delivered instantly via email. All prizes are as described and cannot be exchanged for cash.
6. Winner Selection
Winners are selected using certified random number generation. The process is recorded and can be independently verified. Winners will be contacted within 48 hours of the draw.
7. Claiming Prizes
Winners have 48 hours to respond and claim their prize. Failure to respond within this timeframe may result in forfeiture of the prize and selection of an alternative winner.
8. Delivery
Physical prizes are delivered free of charge within the UK. London area winners may opt for personal hand delivery with video recording. Digital prizes are delivered instantly via email.
9. Charitable Donations
Merit Lab donates a portion of proceeds to Cancer Research UK (Charity Registration Number: 1089464). We are committed to supporting important causes while providing exciting competitions.
10. Data Protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with UK GDPR. We collect only necessary information for competition entry and prize delivery. Data is not shared with third parties except as required for prize fulfillment.
11. Liability
Merit Lab's liability is limited to the value of the prize. We are not responsible for technical failures, postal delays, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
12. Modification
Merit Lab reserves the right to modify these terms or cancel competitions in exceptional circumstances. Participants will be notified of any significant changes.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
